- All-Soviet trust for the construction of extra large bridges Mostotrest was established on 25 January, 1930 by the Council of the People's Commissars of the USSR
First bridge-building company in USSR
- Before 1941 Mostotrest was the only specialised bridging organisation in the USSR
- From 1930 to 1941, Mostotrest built nearly 200 large bridges totalling over 35 km in length, including the major bridges over rivers Dnieper, Volga, Angara, Oka, Moscow

- May 1945 — Mostotrest became part of Glavmostostroy, an entity then controlled by the USSR Transport Ministry and underwent a significant reorganization

In February 2014, the Sochi Winter Olympic Games were held. The transport infrastructure in and around the city had been radically revamped in the run-up to the Games, and Mostotrest played an active part in helping to shape a new image for the capital city of the Games.
In the period from 2014 to 2018 four sections of M-11 “Moscow – St.-Petersburg” constructed by Mostotrest were opened to traffic.
In May 2018 road section of Kerch Bridge, construction of which was one of the most significant events in history of Russia and Mostotrest, was opened to traffic. A unique seaborne operation was mounted to install within 72 hours the bridge arches necessary for the passage of ships along the Kerch Strait.
Mostotrest becomes the market leader in the transport infrastructure construction and operation sector with a market share of about 15%. Mostotrest’s headcount is more than 33,000.
